I have been a coin collector for about 35 years and I hate to see anyone get ripped-off. Just the thought bothers me very much. people see what they think is a great deal and they spend their hard earned money for a coin that they will never get their money back out of, just doesn't set right with me. I know everyone should educate themselves but the information is not always available or easy to find, so they put their TRUST in the seller. Any opinions or comments either for or against can be e-mailed me directly at |

WHAT STINKS: "About the deal" |
Hi, I too, like a gentlemen on your site, received a call from World Wide Galleries. The woman I spoke to was a woman from New York. She told me that they had antique Napoleon coins selling for $1,400 a set and only two sets were allowed to a customer. Then they were to go to London in four months to receive bids on the coins and the minimum amount to be paid for the coins would be $10,000, up. They would receive a fee of 7% which was to be deducted from the amount the coins were sold at. The coins would be sent by "post" and the buyer would hold the coins. I was told a guarantee of 20% of the $1,400 would be returned if the coins didn't sell, along with the original $1,400. Once in London, they would call from there to ask if you wanted to sell the coins at whatever price they received in London. The woman asked me for my credit card number and also the 3 digit number on the back of the credit card. |
I know from paying a couple bills online that the 3 digit number on the back of a card is an additional security number. Also, when I asked about their web site I was told it was under construction. Then I saw another email about this on your site.

Dear Sir, I can't believe I let myself get taken like this. I answered an ad in the back of a business paper that said deals on rare gold "for the serious investor". So, I started to buy a few occasionally. Got suspicious when he really started pressuring me to buy more, and calling at least twice daily. Looked on EBAY and was shocked to see they were selling for half of what I had paid. He didn't seem to interested in buying them back when I called to ask if he would. What an assh*le. Buyer beware would be a good idea here. A generous coin dealer gave me about half of what I had paid originally and I decided to invest in stocks instead. Never will I take it for granted that someone is being honest. Here is the pertinent information:>>>>1-800-633-2646 <<<<KJP and Associates Inc. 16850-112 Collins Ave, Sunny Isles Florida 33160. *Ask for John Lindsey. Give him a call and ask a bunch of dumb questions. |
P.S. Upon realizing that I got taken, called my credit card company and told them to close the account and issue another card. Story sent in by Disco Stew, POSTED 4-15-2004 |
Does anybody know anything about WorldWide Galleries- supposedly based in SE Florida? They have one telemarketing ploy where they claim that that they have gotten a hold of 300 sets of MS-69 Napoleon Angel gold coins- uncirculated. They do the old one-two punch approach with the 'high-pressure' salesman coming on the line to close the deal- He stayed on the line for at least 45 minutes convincing me that they were a legitimate company and that I could reverse the charge within 60 days, and that they were sending the 'guarantee' and the coins via the US Post (they wouldn't dare commit mail fraud would they?). I could buy a 2-coin set of Napoleon Angel gold coins for $1,400. - they would let us hold the coin while they advertise their 'find' at various world-wide coin shows and get 'bids'. Their 'conservative' rate of return was at least $7,000. - $10,000. per set in late June 2004. They had this 'deal' to get new 'clients' (suckers like me)- the limit was 3 sets per customer. The high-pressure guy upped the return to $10,000. - $14,000. per set once I started balking. He even said I could put $1,400. down for 2 sets and pay the rest later once I got the coins. This was two weeks ago and no coins yet. Upon calling Worldwide Galleries (1-888-715-4700; 1-631-268-6459) I was told that they would call me back- I called twice and no calls back. However- upon checking the bank account- no withdrawals for $1,400. either. I must have dodged the scam bullet this time. Thank the Lord. BEWARE! |

My friend just told me about a seminar where if she invests as little as $200/month (and brings in 6 other people) this company will show her how to make money with silver coins. I'm smelling a rat. I found complaints on them in the BBB for 2 states (they were also under another name in Nevada). I'm just wondering if you've heard anything else about them? The name of the company is Concept Marketing National (their other name is National Adverstising Association). The head person is named James Alridge. |

They want you to buy coins at prices that you will never be able to get your money back out of no matter how long you hold them. EXAMPLE: For $30.00 you get a 1964 Kennedy Half and their News letter or for $50.00 you get a Silver Eagle Dollar. WOW what a deal. The Half is worth about $2.50 depending on silver price and the Silver Eagle Dollar you can buy anywhere at about $13.00 |
