General Information About MCCC:
Established in 1959, the Montgomery
County Coin Club is dedicated to fostering interest in coin collecting, from beginners
to experts. The club publishes a monthly bulletin to give club members news of interest
to area coin collectors.
Monthly meetings feature guest speakers and videos on
various numismatic topics including coins, paper currency or medal collecting. Visitors
are welcome to the meetings. Club members have the opportunity to show items from
their collections and to give and receive advice about coin and paper money collecting
with fellow members.
Each meeting also features a live auction of more than 30
lots. Members and vistors may bid. The club also features a monthly mail bid auction.
The
club maintains a library with over 300 volumes on coins and collecting which are
available for borrowing by club members. The library includes volumes on United States,
Canada, England, world, and ancient coins.
Membership Information:
Dues
are $6 per calendar year for regular members and $1 per year for young numismatists.
Dues for the second half of the year are prorated.
Monthly Meetings:
The
Montgomery County Coin Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
at the Schweinhaut Senior Citizen Center, 1000 Forest Glen Road, Silver Spring, Maryland.
Directions:
From the Beltway (I-495), go north on Georgia Avenue (Exit 31) to the first traffic
light (Forest Glen Road). Go right approximately one mile. The center is on the right,
just past the basketball courts at Argyle Park.
